online week

I am really excited about our lesson plan! We're not going to be doing a normal lesson plan. It is very interactive and I think the class will enjoy themselves. My partner and I have worked very well together and are ready to teach it next week.


I have enjoyed this class! I have learned so much and I feel that everything I learned I can put into use in my classroom. I think the only change to the class I would like to see is the amount of group projects. I find that I work well with others but it is difficult to work around others schedules. One way that this could be helped is having the same partner throughout the semester. That way you know when that person can work or can not.


I do think that technology is a must for modern teachers. I spoke on this before in class, but I think it is important to repeat. Our world has changed in the last few decades. As future teachers it is our job to prepare our students for the world and thereby the workforce. Technology is the major source of jobs in this modern world. I feel that without technology in the classroom we would be doing our students a great harm to their education.

Voicethread

I loved voicethread! I think all the interactive ability that it has is amazing!! You have all the abilities of blogs and then add on doodles and voice messages and more....I think that voicethread would be a great tool for the classroom. I realize that some people might be hesitant to using it because it is SO interactive but I don't see how voicethread could be labeled has harmful and blogs or any other use of the Internet can be labeled as good. I think the answer to protecting the students is the same for the other uses of the Internet and that is monitoring their activities.

Voicethread has so many possibilities that I think it could be used in any classroom in any number of ways. In my classroom I can have daily artists and their work posted on voicethread and then have open discussion relating to this artist. Students then could leave written comments or a voice message or doodle on the piece of art to illustrate what they would have put into the art piece or take out of the work. This is just one idea...I think their are many other ways this program can be beneficial to a classroom.
